NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination: NTA Issues Crucial Admit Card Clarification Ahead of June 21 Test
Ahead of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on June 21, the National Testing Agency has issued a major clarification stating that only the newly released admit cards are valid. The Central Government has strengthened security arrangements, while the Delhi High Court is set to deliver its verdict on the temporary restrictions imposed on Telegram.
In a post on the social media platform X, the National Testing Agency stated that candidates who have already downloaded their fresh admit cards for the June 21 examination are not required to download them again. The agency explained that SMS messages, emails and WhatsApp notifications were primarily sent to candidates who had not yet downloaded their revised admit cards.
The National Testing Agency further clarified that admit cards issued for the May 3 examination will not be accepted because several candidates have been allotted new examination centres in their preferred cities. According to the agency, downloading and printing the June 21 admit card once is sufficient for appearing in the examination.
The NEET UG 2026 re-examination is scheduled to be conducted on June 21, and the Central Government has already put extensive security arrangements in place to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the test.
Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court heard the matter concerning the temporary restrictions imposed on Telegram on June 18. The petition challenges the decision taken by the Central Government. The court is now expected to deliver its verdict on Friday. After hearing arguments presented by Telegram and the Central Government on Thursday, the single-judge bench headed by Justice Tejas Karia reserved its order.
According to information available on the Delhi High Court website, the verdict is scheduled to be pronounced at 10:30 am on Friday. The writ petition questions the restrictions imposed under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, based on directions issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology following recommendations made by the National Testing Agency.
The developments come at a critical stage ahead of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination, with authorities focusing on eliminating confusion among candidates and ensuring the integrity and security of one of the country's most significant entrance examinations.
